Safeguarding
Everyone working with children in our setting has a duty of care to keep children safe. All our team have the relevant safeguarding qualifications for working with young children and have regular training once a month.
Charnwood Forest Nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people. Providing a safe environment for all our students, staff and visitors is at the upmost importance to us
Charnwood Forest Nursery's recruitment and selection procedures specify that all adults working with children have an enhanced DBS disclosure. This is to ensure that all unsuitable people are prevented from working with children.
We have robust procedures for admitting anyone into the setting who will work with children and any visitor without a DBS (formerly CRB) certificate, including parents, is accompanied at all times.
All visitors are provided with safeguarding information, which outlines the procedure for reporting any concerns they may have.
Anyone witnessing a disclosure or feeling concern is directed to immediately record the details on one of the Nursery's internal concern forms and to return it to one of the DSLs as soon as possible.
2. Please keep Visitor badge on at all times
The visitor badge shows the children you are a visitor and not a member of staff. If we have seen your DBS check you will have a green visitor badge. If we have not seen a DBS check, you will have a red badge.
3. All Nursery Assistants are First Aid Trained
First Aid boxes are available in the kitchen and the bathroom.
4. Fire Evacuation Procedure
If the alarm should go off please exit immediately via nearest fire exit (do not stop to gather any personal belongings).
Gather on the sports field outside Charnwood College 3G pitch and await further instructions.
5. Any other evacuation
When alarm sounds please exit via nearest fire exit.
You will be informed by a member of the Leadership Team if you need to gather at the 3G pitch.
6. We are a Nut Free Nursery.
7. Please do not use mobile phones or take any photos during your visit unless you have had permission to do so.
