Charnwood Forest Nursery located in Loughborough aims to provide high quality care and education for all children.

Our Nursery

A typical Nursery day

 8.30am-9.00am

Children arrive at the setting and are welcomed by a member of the team, parents are more than welcome to bring their child into the setting, however some parents find it easier for a member of the team to bring their child in from the gate. Children find their named peg, hang up their coats and bags and put their lunchbox on the lunch trolley. After this, children are free to choose what they would like to play with and are supported by the team.

9.00am-9.15am

All children and the team gather for welcome time, children choose a cushion and sit down in a circle, we say hello to all children one at a time, sign the day of the week, discuss the days weather, count how many children are here and explain what’s out for the children to explore today! This is also a time for children to have group conversation and share news with the whole group should they wish.

9.15am-10.45am

Free play! The outdoor doors are open, and the children are free to explore indoors and outdoors. During this time the team supports children’s learning and development through meaningful interactions, and high-quality play experiences. Children are also offered a self-serve snack bar during this time.

10.45am-11.00am

Tidy away time! Children are supported in tidying the outdoor and indoor environment ready for the afternoon, this is made a fun time and team members use this time as a great way to further children’s development.

11.00am-11.30am

Story and song time! All the team and children gather for story and song time, children choose a cushion and sit down in a circle, we have a focus story which we concentrate on for as long as the children’s interest last, this helps the children to develop a deep love and learning of Reading/Literacy.

11.30am-12.30pm

Morning session ends children go to the toilet, wash hands and go to the hall for lunch and some children go home, parents are invited into the setting to collect their child and staff are on hand for any conversations needed.
